The Breakup
She broke up with me- just like that. From 7500 miles away in an email. My nanny left me for someone else. I'm trying not to take it personally- but let's face it- I'm taking it personally. I really liked her. I trusted her with my newborn baby. And- poof - she's gone. No good-bye hugs, no chance to work it out. Breaking up sure is hard to do. Sniff sniff.

Maybe better than a post-it note upon your arrival home? Good luck with finding someone new... xo
FGIS- You're so right. Thanks for making me smile in the middle of my pity party.
Yikes - this stinks!
I'm a follower ... err, stalker of your blog and have come out of hiding for this particular post!
Being a former nanny myself, I've heard of many stories from the family I worked for, about prior nannies of theirs (and even after me) - some sad stories, I will say.
I'm sorry you lost your nanny, especially under these circumstances. From experience, I will say that it's never easy to leave the family you work for (even for positive reasons and under the right conditions) ... and although I don't know the circumstances of the break up, I'm assuming it was/will be difficult for her. If she cared about your children, it will be difficult.
I hope your search for another goes okay.
Mandy
Thanks Mandy. I'm sure she has her reasons. I feel like I need to have an exit interview with her and ask her what I can do in the future to keep my next nanny happy. ;)
