You know you're in Australia when
you are at the Oval watching your 6 year old do Little Athletics
and a huge kookaburra swoops down
and snatches a sausage
right out of the mouth of the little girl standing next to you
and she is left holding an empty slice of white sandwich bread.
Then you know you are definitely in Australia.

Awww how sad, but funny at the same time. I had a similar experience- but with a seagull and a piece of pizza.
Oh, I know how much you "love" birds. Good thing it didn't happen to you or Kate.
Good fill someone in on and this enter helped me alot in my college assignement. Thanks you as your information.
I enjoy reading your new experiences. I remember it fondly when I lived there. On a similar note, an Ibis (rats with wings) snatched an ice cream out of my son's hands as he was eating it in Brisbane over Christmas. I hate those birds. Scared the crap out of me. That huge beak could have pecked an eye out and that ice cream was up to my son's mouth at the time. Geez.
We used to feed the kookaburra in our backyard ham, when we lived there.
I was once attacked by a kooka for a dolmades... Scary few seconds!
Brim over I assent to but I contemplate the collection should have more info then it has.
