Last weekend the little buddy celebrated his fourth birthday at Clifton Gardens Reserve. It was a day filled with lots of preschool friends,
sports, and a trash truck rainbow birthday cake. He declared it a "fabulous" birthday.
We even had a little excitement during the party when one of the dads jumped into the water (fully clothed) to rescue a teenager who lost strength while swimming. This is Australia, after all.
Happy birthday, sweet boy!

Lovely post Jenny!
So funny that he is still into trash trucks! Do they call them something else down there? "Rubbish lorries" or something?
Yes, the "Rubbish Truck" obsession continues!
happy birthday to your sweet boy. did you make the rainbow cake? i would love the details.
Kristi- the rainbow cake is so fun to make! I follow these general directions:

And use this white cake recipe:

Just be sure to double the recipe or your cake will be very small. Also, the gel food colours are really the best for getting the bright rainbow stripes in the cake.
This is an easy buttercream frosting recipe (sift the sugar before measuring):

Kids always ooh and aah when they see the rainbow cake.
Happy Baking!
